The Black Hole – SciFi Short Film

The short film ‘The Black Hole’ follows the story of your average office employe doing his standard routine, he’s printing things out until randomly an ominous black dot prints out onto a piece of paper. He seems confused but thinks nothing of it until he puts his cup of coffee onto it and it appears to fall. This causing him to come to the conclusion that the ‘hole’ works as a gateway.

I like this film as it is a interesting and a new concept that I haven’t even considered before. I would say the the genre best fitting for this would be SciFi and their target audience would be people with a very active imagination i.e SciFi fans. The film doesn’t necessarily have a script nor a strong narrative but it does have a narrative that is relatable to your average person. You can easily identify with the character as the actions and emotions that he goes through and does are easily adapted to anyone. The set and acting are what help make the film believable as you can tell a lot of thought has gone into it. The film’s lighting and sound help create the desired atmosphere as they both compliment each other, although the camera quality could be improved.
